New Holland TC25/TC25D Clutch

All ready to install new clutch/pressure plate. Manual says to check release levers height using tool NH1300. Tool looks easy enough to make. Does anyone know the height difference between the outer legs and the center tab? Tried two dealers and no help there. Thanks

The tool measures from the flywheel to the finger height. So, it would be the Height of Release Lever from Flywheel Surface Allowable Limit in the chart or 2.09 - 2.16"

Thanks, I can work with that. Just curious tho, on the spec sheet it also shows height of release lever as 2.3 +/- .0197. any idea what that is in relation to?

Any reputable retailer of pressure plates has the fingers set before the assembly is boxed for sale.
Not having the proper swing gauge and arbor and no experience, you stand a better chance of screwing something up than improving things.
Bolt the clutch on the flywheel and put the tractor together.

Icebite, the book has a misprint there and should say 2.13" as 54 mm is 2.13".
As for checking the measurement of the fingers, if it is as easy as checking when bolted to the flywheel and you have that measurement, then do it. While agree with Rick that the manufacturer should set it correctly, I have seen fingers misadjusted and have had to split tractors again because of misadjusted pressure plates from oem's. The comeback from the manufacturer under warranty circumstances is the line in the service manual that states, "check finger height adjustment before installation".
Probably 98-99% of the time it is assembled correctly, but even new parts deserve a once over for proper assembly, especially if it is going to save several hours of work.

I checked the finger height by running a straight edge across the top of two fingers and checked the height of the straight edge to the flywheel at both ends then alternated the process. Looked good. All back together and working fine.

OK, does anyone have a picture or diagram of what this tool looks like other than what is in the manual? I have tried three New Holland dealers in the 90 mile radius of Houston, and no one knows a thing about this tool, and can't even find it in their system. Would like to make one to be absolutely sure.
