New Holland TC25D (2002)
Hi all!
I fell into a good deal on a New Holland TC25D. I have driven it and played with it a bit. It's a 2002 model with just over 200 hours on the clock.
I bought it and will take possession of it this spring when we move out to the new place on about 13 acres. The previous owner is storing the tractor for me in his barn until we get moved.
Much of our land will continue being farmed by a guy who we know well, we will take care of about 5 acres of it. We will mow a few acres and have a good sized garden.
Looking forward to lots of good info here.
I see this model is discontinued and I don't really find much about it on line.
Is there much difference between it and the BOOMER line?
Mine is the 3 cyl diesel 4 wheel drive hydrostatic.
Any tips and comments will be greatly appreciated.

It's considered part of the Class II Boomer line, along with the TC29D and TC33D. Welcome to the Boomer family! :) I have a 2001 TC25D. Any questions, ask away.

That's great, thanks!
I guess I'm just looking for things to watch out for.
I read somewhere that the hydraulic hoses coming out under the radiator are prone to leaks at the elbow. That's the kind of thing I'm after at this point.
Common stuff to watch for and how to fix/prevent.
Also if you have any links to info on the TC25D I would appreciate them.
I have an owner's manual ordered but it hasn't arrived yet.

If the elbows are hoses, they can dry out, then split. There's a kit to replace them with metal pipes and straight hoses. Your 2002 might have this already.

Reading through old posts here is a good place to start. Ones that come to mind are;
  • Throttle lever that loosens and wont hold a setting. (Remove panels under dash, remove nut on base of throttle lever, apply Loctite and tighten.)
  • Fuse 2 (I think) that blows preventing starting, usually as the battery gets older. (Fix is to replace it with a 10a circuit breaker)
  • Treadle pedal that doesn't return completely to neutral. (There's a replacement spring kit or live with it. I've gotten used to sliding my foot back and nudging the rear treadle pedal when this happens.)
  • Dash can cloud up with condensation now and then.

Also if you have any links to info on the TC25D I would appreciate them.
TBN is all you need! :D Seriously, I'm not aware of any other sites with more information or friendlier people. partspring.com is a good place to get parts and supplies and they are an advertiser here.

Hey Rocketman - I have a TC25D that I just built a cab for out of PVC. The tractor is great and gets the job done. It is basically the same unit as a TC29D or TC33 but has less HP with the RPMs limited.

Any help you need...just let me and the others know.

One other thing. I did create a thread several years ago on the front hydraulic power steering hose that failed. Also, I created a thread on the tilt steering shock that failed (with pictures of the replacement).

Hey great info folks, thanks!
Guess I need to improve my thread searching skills, as I hadn't found most of the stuff ya'll refered to.
Looks like I found the place for the good info.

Me too...

Bought as new-old-stock, '06 in '09, used for one project and sold on CL. 24 hrs on the clock. So far it seems like it can do anything I would expect a little tractor to do.
Has anyone come up with a way to make the HST filter and fan less vulnerable?

Those are the best tires I've ever seen on a Class II Boomer. They look like very wide ag tires. Nice!

EDIT: Oops! Not a Class II, that's a TZ25 instead of a TC25. Numbers are confusing aren't they?
