New Holland TC29 -Oil and Oil Filter

Hello,
I wanted to change the Oil and Oil Filter for my New holland TC29 tractor. Currently it has a Wix oil filter on the tractor right now. Is this a good filter? or do you recommend any other ones?
As for the oil, the book says, SAE 10w-30. Am I supposed to get oil for a diesel engine and what brand do you guys recommend? It doesn't specify in the book.

Keep it simple. Wix is fine: use the same number. The manual is your guide, but if it doesn't say, you certainly want Diesel service oil. Regular changes, not fancy oil, work just fine.

This is meant to be helpful:

Certain New Holland TC series tractors have had serious engine problems due to refilling the oil too quickly. New Holland distributed a service bulletin specific to this problem. If you search TBN you'll find threads that address this and the catastrophic consequences when the new, improved oil refill steps are not followed.

Edit: See "Heads up to TC26da owners" here on TBN. The New Holland Service Bulletin lists TC29DA as one of the models to be careful with.

I've always used the recommended NH filter on my TC33D and regular 10w-30 oil as stated in the manual. It never occurred to me to even look for specific diesel oil; usually go with Castrol or another reputable brand name. I've had the tractor since new 16 years ago and it has never missed a beat!
