Yes checking the solenide was the first thing I checked checked with test light for voltage an had voltage felt it clicking when truning key on an off so the to check more I removed it an watched it moving. So then with a 1/4 drive extention I manually pushed in the pump an felt the rack moving an returning when letting up. But did not trun motorover with out pump in to see if crank was turning. Thanks again guys it still has me puzzeled it one of the most simple set ups for a diesel.

Hours on the machine?
While turning it over did you notice if the oil pressure lite went out?

According to my manual the oil pump operates off the same shaft.
You looked at the shaft when you had the pump out, did the lobes look in decent shape?

Tractor has 2200 hours and the crank looked good a smooth when I looked in the hole where the pump was. An I did notice an oil light

When cranking it over the lite should go out when the oil pump picks up oil and builds some pressure.

So the lobes on the shaft were lobes( rather like a cam) and not just round?

You may want to look back in there and make sure that shaft is turning.

Yeah checked today an crank shaft was turning. Went ahead an threw the towl in an bit the bullet an hauled it in to dealer. As much as I didn't want to diidnt know what elese to do. The say the pump is air locked. Going to be first of the week befor they can pull it in to start looking at it. Thanks for all the help.
