New Holland TC35 2002
The parking brake safety switch was working fine and suddenly quit. The tractor quits when I get off. I looked and the switch is not touching the the metal bar any more to engage the safety when I put the parking brake on. It isn't loose but it isn't far enough forward to hit the stop bar. Is this ajustable? I was going to jump the wires but would rather see if I could fix it correctly.

Doesn't look like there is any adjustment from the parts diagram. I wonder if the spring inside the switch went bad, the plunger sticks out a good distance. Good thing is the switch is still available.

@Larry OBrien - A couple of things...

If you machine is a TC35 (not a TC35A or TC35D) I believe your brake pedals are on the right side of the tractor (& not the left as shown in the above PDF).

The other thing I think you need to confirm is... I don't believe the brake pedal assembly is supposed to touch the Brake Safety Switch when the Parking Brake is ENGAGED. I believe it should only touch the Parking Brake Safety Switch when the Parking Brake Lever is DISENGAGED. (please make sure you chock the tires when checking this)

If this is the case I would first check the wires & connectors to make sure they are ok... then I would jump the switch wires & see if it corrects the issue, if it does it is most likely the switch (but there is a testing procedure for it if you want to be sure)

I'm going to try and jump the wires tomorrow. I'll post the results when I get done.

@Larry OBrien - I attached the testing procedure for the Parking Brake Safety Switch for the TC series... If you have an Ohm meter bring it with you... pretty simple test to do

Yep, my bad, clicked on the wrong file. Good news is they both use the same switch so it is available.

Thanks for the information. I will test it Sunday. I needed to run the tractor yesterday and today, so I haven't been able to work on it. Thanks to everyone for your help.
