New Holland TC35DA
My 10 yo tractor has recently developed a hydraulic problem. I can lift the FEL but can't rotate it with the remote control. Also, my 3PH does not work. The remote feels very stiff. I've replaced the hydraulic filters and oil but that didn't help. I checked the quick connects on the FEL and they look clean and work properly. When I change the position of the diverter valve so that hydraulic fluid is only directed to the HPL, the 3PH works properly. Does this indicate a problem with the diverter valve or is there something simpler I can check? Thanks for any suggestions.

What kind of diverter valve and where is it located and how is it connected?

For the 3pt not working, it is not getting fluid.

Do you have remote valves at the back trying to operate the FEL?

Show some pictures.

Are you sure the hoses are connected correctly?

By rotate, do you mean curl bucket up or down?

I would install a hyd gage and use it for monitor the hyd system and troubleshooting.

Hi J.J. The diverter valve is shown on page 2-25 of my owners manual and is referred to as the "hydraulic manifold block/diverter valve". I haven't been able to locate it on Partspring yet so I can't get any more specific than this.

I don't have any rear remotes on my tractor.

I'm sure the hoses are connected properly. Prior to this morning, they've never been disconnected.

By rotate I do mean curl.

Thanks for the help!

By saying your remotes are stiff, are you saying that the remote lever does not return to spring center neutral?

If that is true, that could cause backpressure on the FEL valve.

If you installed a hyd gage. it would help you in troubleshooting.

The gage will tell you if the FEL valve is providing fluid to the cyl, by the pressure reading.

Disconnect the curl QD's and reconnect them.

Thanks J.J. The remote lever does not return to center. Some of the valves on the remote look rusted. This morning, I changed the QDs going to the arms with the QD's that curl the bucket. I was able to curl the bucket but the arms didn't respond to the remote and went straight up until the relief valve opened. I guess that means the remote valve is stuck open? I'm going to the autoparts store to get a gage this afternoon. Thanks again for the help.

Hi Again J.J. I gave the valves on the remote a spritz of WD40 and let it sit for a few minutes. The WD40 broke down whatever rust or grime was preventing the remote from operating and now everything works! I never thought of lubricating those valves but they'll be on my to-do-list from now on. Thank you for taking the time to help me.
