So after a long wait I finally had my clutch replaced. the old one with only 300 hours was a real mess, Most of it I'm pretty sure due to my driving, however the mechanic wasn't sure that maybe something was loose. Since I purchased it brand new, only one to drive it, never had it apart, I just had to wonder. looking at the photos the fly wheel side of the clutch looked perfectly fine. the pressure plate side was a real mess damaged right down to the metal disk, and two deep grooves in the pressure plate surface. So just wondering what the thoughts might be on the forum

Operator failure. Keep your foot off the clutch pedal unless you are in the act of disengaging it. And choose a gear/speed not too fast for the task at hand. In other words, do not slip the clutch as a way of reducing speed.

i agree, I had the same type of grooving, we have a loader and use it like a bulldozer, have moved almost 1/4 mile or boulders building a road 3 feet tall and 12 feet wide, as well as other similar projects, and my mom rides the pedal, I saw this same grooving on the pressure plate side, no issues on flywheel side.
