Under 300 hrs means this tractor is not even broken in. $17k sounds like a good price. I would talk the owner into a test drive, mower test, and FEL test under load. Does he have any other attachments to sweeten the deal? Good luck. Advise if you buy.

:thumbsup:Sounds like a wonderful deal to me. How many rear remotes? Each one is worth about $500 at today's prices. If I found a deal like that, I'd have a hard time turning it down and I don't need another tractor.

Thanks for the input.I really like the tractor and will decide by this weekend.I thought it was a good deal also but was unsure about the resale in case I ever wanted to trade. Down here in Alabama people like GREEN and ORANGE.Thanks a lot

Good luck with buying New Holland. Just had my barely broke in TC29 blue machine back in the shop with a siezed ring which scraped the bore. What no oversized pistons for this machine I asked the dealer. Nope need to buy a whole new block at a cost of 6200 for labor and motor. Sure you could bore and sleeve the cylinder, but at the cost of labor at 70 dollars per hour its basically a wash after you take it all apart pay the machinist and put it all back together just to put a sleeve in it. Just had this motor apart 120 hours ago at 560 hours because of a miss-machined head from the factory that would not allow the valve to seat properly until fully heated up to operating temp. This caused the tractor to not fire on all cylinders and puff thick smoke until around 15 minutes after startup. Same symptoms this time but now a stuck ring gouging away at my cylinder wall. So 8200 worth of repairs to the motor before it rolls over 700 hours or just barely broken in from what it would seem from others replies. And oh ya maybe New Holland would help on this issue after what seems to be an unreliable motor, nope left the dealer out to dry and said it was simply beyond warranty and would not cover a dime. Time to take a serious look at the green and orange tractors.

Matt, if you decide not to buy this tractor, would you be so kind as to tell us where the tractor is located? I know there are bound to be lots of folks who would jump on a deal like yours. These are people who have read through all NH forums and see that it is extremely rare to have engine problems on a New Holland CUT. I think you should look at the tractor, drive it, and evaluate it based on your experience. I have a TC45D with 1600 hours and my engine runs perfectly, like the day I brought it home. I think you will find that's the experience of most people here.

Be interesting to investigate the TC29, and find out what it's bore size is, and if there is possibly a slightly larger piston set which would work. Never have seen a parent bore cylinder which couldn't have a larger piston fitted. Most dealers aren't machine shops, just parts changers. If it's not supplied by NH, then they shy away from major repairs such as machining blocks. Sorry to read about the TC29 problem, my TC48 has run well, as well as my neighbor's TC35.
