When it's finished, which I hope is tomorrow!
Friday afternoon I unboxed it in the driveway and hauled all the pieces around back with the 1864 and wagon.
Yesterday I laid out the flooring kit and nailed it down, and put up most of the metal 'skeleton'.
Today I finished up the rest of the skeleton, and put in a few of the plastic panels but then the thunderstorms came long. I just hope none of the plastic bits blew away!
I hope to finish tomorrow.
It was slow going. There are a few places where you simply cannot proceed without having two people. It's not that the pieces are heavy. In fact, they are quite light. The problem is at certain steps, such as where you put up all the metal wall posts and then put the top metal rails in place, the whole thing is a giant house of cards until it's all in place and you put in some screws. It fell apart on me 3 times before I gave up and went and grabbed the next-door neighbor
Even with two people this step was astonishingly difficult to get through without the whole thing caving in, so we improvised by securing things with duct-tape as we went along, and skipping ahead a few pages and putting in a few angle-brackets ahead of time. Once all together and screwed, it's actually quite strong.
Not to mention it was 90+ degree's both yesterday and today with extremely high humidity, and given my health I was only able to work on it for an hour at a time without taking a break for an hour or so.
