2013 Kioti DK45SE-HST
Based on reviews here and the tractor having the heavy duty features that appeal to me I bought one- It mows awesome!!
I got it so my Mrs could tag team the acreage with me while I drive the Kioti DK45SE-HST w/ a 72" Woods finish mower.
I have to say this Husq may mow better in average size grass!
My lot has hills and some rougher terrain and I was impressed with the traction even w/o using diff lock. I did use it once when I was in a weird rut that had one rear wheel off the ground. It worked fabulously. There is info online if you google the TuffTorq diff on how to change it's lube if you feel you must, along w/ lube specs. I saw some wonderment posted about this.
There were more of this unit available in the crate at Sumner Lawn and Saw (WA state) that I didn't see on a web search. Great place to deal with.

I will probably bypass the 'safety' feature under the seat that kills the motor when you lift your butt.
Living dangerously is nothing new to me :}

If you set the parking brake, you can leave it running when you get off.

Was this in the manual?
It's just like me to read the manual two years after getting a piece of equipment. lol:laughing:
This is good to know but i see it cuts out when the operator is sliding and leaning also.

I found it by accident. It MAY be in the manual.

I recently ventured into some off-lawn areas with weeds about a foot high. I used full power instead of 2/3, but it happily went through all of that without a complaint!!

I just picked up a GT54LS...to replace my 9 year old Craftsman. Been going back and forth between all the brands, zero-turns, residential vs commercial models. Finally decided to go with this tractor. The locking rear diff is what pushed me towards the Husqvarna. This model I feel falls in between the D and X series John Deere. Felt it was the best bang for the buck. We'll see how it holds up. I mow about 1.75 acres with a couple small hills around my walkout. My Craftsman had trouble on the first pass along the edge where it would spin out even on dry grass. I tested the Husqvarna and it just walked up it. Tons of power. Didn't get a chance to mow with it since it is raining - just drove it around for 15 min. I'll report on the cut in a week or so when all this rain stops and the grass is tall enough to mow.

No it finally stopped...then got cold so the grass didn't grow that much. I did mow with it and wow it has tons of power or my old Craftsman was really tired. I was waiting to try it in a little taller grass before giving my opinion, but so far I am happy with my decision. The cut was very nice, and it would just walk up the hill at my walkout where my craftsman spun. Don't care for the single throttle / choke lever, everything else is fine. I do like the reserve for the fuel tank, have ran out of gas a few times on the old one. By the way I did sell the Craftsman for $450...bought it one year old off a buddy for $1,000 9 years ago...so only cost me $61 a year to use it plus the maintenance items. (put two sets of blades on it, one spindle, drive belt, oil / filter changes) Hard to beat that!

Throttle is on a lever by itself, up where you can see it. The choke is on a pull knob below the dash on the left - the steering wheel blocks your view from the seat.
