Throttle is on a lever by itself, up where you can see it. The choke is on a pull knob below the dash on the left - the steering wheel blocks your view from the seat.

NOPE...My eyesight might be going but I'm not blind yet

On mine (CA version) it has a manual choke.

When I trailered mine home, it wouldn't start. I thought it had automatic choke, and couldn't see the knob because of the steering wheel. I was getting a bit peeved, and got off the mower to call the dealer - and saw the choke when I got off. It's well hidden if I'm on the mower. First time my wife got on, she couldn't find it, either.
