Anybody have this hydraulic filter kit installed?http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=41484&item=3876575699&rd=1 It looks better than the new factory one. What do you think? I wonder if it slows down the FEL at all.

I looked at this and the filter is in line with the power steering return line. It will not filter 100 percent of the oil, oil will still go from the sump to the pump to the loader then part goes to steering and part goes to lift, the part that goes to lift will dump back into the sump without being filtered. However, I don't think this filter will hurt anything, and could help filter some particals out. You will still need to use the under seat screen filter. and it will still need regular cleaning.

I agree that it misses the fluid that goes to the lift, and would need to keep screen. In general, isn't this a minimal amount of oil? ie you raise lift some oil will go into this line, and leave when lowered. I didn't think oil was always circulating through that part of the circuit, but maybe I'm wrong.
Do the new pressure side filters, still have the screen installed? I wonder what that kit goes for?

You bring up an interesting point. on 300 series Jinmas and all of our KAMAs, all of the oil is returned to the lift box through the 3 point lift valve. (steering has own circuit on these). I also notice that only the 200 series has the momentary type lift control, were the 300 series and KAMA all have the dual lever draft/position controls, so I suspect you are correct, the main flow is through the steering priority valve and would come back through this filter. This seems to be a safe place to put the filter, as pressure does not seem to be an issue (unless the filter plugs up). I have seen customers replace this line with garden hose with no ill effect.

Partial oil filtering is better than non inmy book. Look at antiquey tractors.. even the crankcase oil is a partial filter system on some models..

Vavtx - Look back on page 7 of the Chinese tractor forum - entry # 536628. You'll see what I installed on my Farm Pro 2425. Too much work to take the seat off and clean the screen, so we added a replaceable filter last spring. I did that at 140 hours, and now have 250 hours on it. It seems like it's doing ok, even on the suction line, which is sometimes questionable. At least we've filtered all the oil, before it goes to the pump and system. It also works as an oil cooler. It seems to lower the temp too. In 90 + degree weather it brought the oil temp down about 10 degrees. (170+ down to 160) Good luck - Yugo

Vavtx - No, this isn't really similar to that. This one filters all the oil going to the pump on the suction side. The filter is an oversized filter, used on caterpillars. We contacted Wix technical department, and asked for their suggestion on eliminating the screen on the hydraulic tank. They suggested to use CFI 89759 housing, and CFI 85759 filter, which are CARQUEST numbers - interchangeable with WIX numbers. The set-up cost approximately $50.00. Available at your local automotive store. There is a bracket under the tractor to support the filter. It took one Sunday afternoon and a six pack, and it made a nice looking settup. Yugo
