Just returned from the Farm Progress Show where I saw 3 new landscape implements for Sub-Compacts at the Woods display. They are called the Estate Series and include a 48" box scraper, 60 inch rear blade (with optional skid shoes), and a 60 inch landscape rake (with optional gauge wheels). You can see them on the Web at www.woodsonline.com under the section on "New Equipment." According to a representative on the display lot, a rotary cutter will also be offered. The Woods entry joins King Kutter and First Choice in addressing this rapidly growing market. There may be others as well that I am not aware of.

Thanks, Jack. I'll check it out and see what we can learn.

The 60" Landscape Rake looks remarkably like the First Choice LR I bought. Does the same manufacturing facility produce for Woods and FC? I might have considered a Woods LR but I believe they only had the 72" model and the FC Rake is a good piece of equipment.

Jack,

thanks for the link. What are those black tubes on the implements? I am guessing owner/operator manuals???? Pretty handy spot to store them. I Once ran a commericial walk behind mower that had that setup.

Haz,
The "black tubes" look like thermos bottles, but they are for the Operators Manuals.

The Woods Landscape Rake and Blade are manufactured at the Woods facility in Oregon, IL. The Woods Box Blade is made at a Woods facility in Indiana according to the Woods representative I talked with at the show. I believe First Choice blades, rakes, etc. are manufactured in Harrisburg, IL.

Jack, are you talking about the Farm show here in Iowa? If so, did you wear out the soles of your shoes? Wasnt it a guys dream to see all that stuff in one place? Did you go to the field demo's? Talk about LONG walks! I live about 1/2 hr away from this show. Went to it monday also.

Oh, also, did you see those little gravity flow wagons in one of the seed corn venders tent? I went and asked the manufacturer about those....to see if they make them for sale......said they werent and were for show only. Said that they cost so much to make. I asked IF they were to sell one, how much would it be.....said about 1500.00. Bet if i flashed a grand out, he would of sold me one, but alas, he said he couldnt sell them. Thought they were the perfwect size for a compact tractor! Feed and grain hauling around. Fertilizer etc. I really wanted one! Had working running gear and everything!
