John Deere 445
After visiting TBN as a guest several dozen times to view the advice and reviews others have posted on tractors, I am excited to be the new owner of a JD 445! I used the postings and advice from others to choose a 445 over a Cub Cadet 3240. To all those who provided reviews and guidance to others on the selection of tractors, THANK YOU!

The 445 came with a 54" deck, turf tires, a twin bagger with PowerFlow system, 47" shaft drive snow thrower w/full hydraulics, Quick Hitch, and a CTC 4150 loader, rear weight bar w/ weights and tire chains. The only item missing right now is the intermediate drive shaft for the snow thrower which the seller forgot to give me and will hopefully be shipping out soon. I forgot to mention that the 445 had only 279 hours on it.

I am coming from a Sears Craftsman GT5000 that had a 46" snow thrower, 48" deck, and a vacuum collection system for grass/leaves. After getting the 445 home, we off-loaded everything and hooked up the deck and bagger and off we went mowing the grass. The difference was night and day! With the power steering, larger deck, and bagger on the 445, it took about 30 minutes off the usual time with a lot less re-work.

I already have some ideas on some additions, like a CAT 0 to use with my weights (so I don't have to pick each one individually, but it will take some time.

Now, off to sell the GT5000 and recoup some of the cost of the 445!

A tip ... Any Deere dealer can order parts for your machine. Not just the lawn & Garden... Construction, Agriculture or commercial. Your closest dealer may not stock the part ..The construction dealer doesn't stock lawn mower blades but I've been able to order a part as part of the dealer's regular stock delivery. No shipping charge that way. If you pay the freight, the part can be in hand tonight. It's expensive, but if a multi million construction job is halted by a broken dozer, freight charges are nothing.
