The CS62 is a efco 962. John Deere has also badged saws made by Echo, Poulan and Homelite. Like anything, some say they are good and some not so much, just have to go by your own experience. I only use Stihl, but I know Husqvarna and Jonersed also make good saws; maybe others too.

It is a poor choice. It isn't color cordinated. You should have bought a Stihl - a great color match (and a nice saw too)!!! However, I just saw where you won it, so in that case we will excuse the color.

I didn't knowJohn Deere was still in the saw business. I thought all the John Deere dealers bacame Stihl dealers and the John Deere saws, trimmers etc. where history. I do have a John Deere straight shaft trimmer/bush saw so I won't be too hard on you.

I was in the market for a 441 and a 660. Stopped by Northern Tools and they were closing out their Efco's, had 1 new one left, an MT 3600, marked down to $50 from $220.
Couldn't pass it up. Still wanted a 441and 660.
Then I won the CS 62 (63CC) which is a rebranded Efco, so I'm down to looking for a 660.

JD did get out of the rebranded saw business and now supports Stihl.

I have 018, 021, 025, 028, 044, 066, 180, 210, 250, and 660. Someone snagged our 066, so we replaced it with the 660 and a year later our 066 was located. The 021/210 is a really great all around saw and I use it more than any of the others. You will really like the 660, it is a powerhouse. We have the 24" and 36" bars.

Nice saw. I have the CS 56 and have cut probably 100 cords of wood with it. Runs strong in all weather conditions. (down to minus 30) You will enjoy it for many years.

My Echo CS-400 color matches well. Nice medium size firewood saw, lightweight with good revs, not to expensive. I've had good luck with the Echo's

I have a stihl 028 super that I have had for many years to cut firewood and do about a semi-load of logs a year out of my woods. Last year I also bought a stihl 361 as I am getting into some trees that are 30 to 36 inches in diameter and wanted more power and a longer bar. Both saws are great machines. I have always split my firewood with an 8lb. splitting maul but as it seems to get heavier every year I am seriously considering getting a 3-point split-fire wood splitter for my L4400.

I agree..the 455 does pretty well in most conditions and a great combo with the bota...

I'll throw in my vote for the Husqvarna too. I just sold my 350 and upgraded to a new 460 Rancher. Very happy with it. Everyone please remember your color-matched safety equipment with your color-matched saws
