Just took delivery of my new B2410 today. Not more than 5 minutes after I had said "Now I wish we'd get some snow so I can use the loader", a little snow squall came through. It didn't amount to much, but I'm taking it as a good omen anyway.

I wanted to say thanks to everyone on TBN who has provided good information, both directly and indirectly. It was invaluable when looking at different equipment, and really figuring out what I would need to get certain jobs done. I dragged my feet on buying (got to "Bronze Member" before I even owned a tractor), but I think it paid off. Now I can't wait to work the little rig.

Congratulations! There is still enough winter left that you may get a chance to move some real snow. In the mean time, take it out, and get use to the feel. It's not playing, it's common sense. Like learning to drive…. You don't start on a highway, you start in an empty lot. Have fun.

Thats great Rob, too cool. Its funny, but being from California I miss out on all this snow moving you guys do. Don't really know the ins and outs of moving snow around. I've been moving dirt around lately but this last week was pretty wet so its just been used to moving trash at the job site. I have a cabin up at Lake Tahoe and we receive the highest snowfall in the entire area as measured by the stream inflows into the lake. I've often wondered if a compact tractor would even work up there as the snow depths around the cabin are anywhere from 10' to 15' deep this time of year. We hire out a snow removal service that uses a large articulating loader, chains on all four wheels, with about a 3 yard bucket. Best of times with your new tractor, Rat...

Mucho congrats, Rob! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

It wasn't that long ago I went through the same shopping ordeal, and I remember the joy of finally taking delivery. You took good advantage of this board, which as far as I'm concerned is the smartest thing any tractor shopper could do. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Like Mark (Rat), I can't relate to the snow issue either, but if that's what you want, may you have many flurries. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

Speaking of snow, Rat, my family has a summer cabin up at Lake Kirkwood, near the ski resort. In that area it is not uncommon to have as much as 30 feet of the stuff. In fact, one year I snowshoed in just to take a look, and it took me forever to find the cabin 'cuz all the landmarks, including the lake, were gone!. Once I determined which wide open area had to be the lake, I was able to locate the top 2 feet of the cabin roof. The peek of this roof is exactly 30 feet off the ground.

What attachment would I need on my little 'L' to plow through that?

Congrats and have a blast. Yet another good excuse to say "I'm busy this weekend"/w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

Harv, Kirkwood receives a load of snow. Our cabin is near Homewood which lines up with the Carquinez Straits and it is said that the air currents through the straits affects the snow fall right at about that point in the Sierras. We have a Cabin peak that is somewhere around 30' as well and in 1993 we lost our masonry chimney to snow build up that was almost up to the chimney. I suppose that if one kept up with it you could keep your driveway clear with most any tractor. Rat...

P.S. I've skiied at Squaw Valley when the chair lifts which are normally about 20' to 30' off the ground were actually below the snow level so you would travel on the chair through walls of snow on either side, its weird

Wheeldog , happy to see ya got one! I am still excited about mine -bad part, I have had it for over a month and still only 6 hours on it/w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif, thinking about it , the learning and listening about tractors here was the fun. I think someone was listening to you and gave you some snow at the perfect time, it's fun to move snow around/w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif. Harv, I think they do make an attachment for your little L, it is a 3pt DC9 Cat I have'nt tried one yet, I hear they are a little on the heavy side so be careful./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif////Congrad's wheeldog, I know exactly what you are going through.

No problemo - if I turbo charge the engine and switch to Amsoil, it should work just fine. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif
