Greetings All,

I was deciding between an LS MT125 and this Kubota BX23S. I bought the Kubota BX23S on Monday and it was delivered today. There wasn't much sleep loss here. I ordered it with a canopy and work lights but decided to just get them elsewhere so I did not have to wait up to 2 weeks for them to come in. This is an upgrade to my 2008 BX25 and I love it!

A couple of comments/questions:

1. I like all of the features / upgrades the BX25 did not have i.e. high back seats with arms, easier backhoe removal, the 12v compartment/ location, new dash etc.
2. I especially like the new instrument cluster on the dash. The BX25 had this little LED for hours / Tach that was hard to read. I like the analog dial on the new one.
2. I think I like the old location of the loader control. It seems to me that my arms are a couple inches longer than it should be for an ideal ergonomics on the new lever location. I will probably get used to it.
Perhaps I can put a zig zag bend on the vertical lever or fabricate and adapter.
2. The wheels are a little different tone of orange compared to the tractor (see picture). Is there another tone of orange being used?
3. I don't like the loader hoses sticking up so much above the hood. See picture of my old BX (the one with the canopy). It looks nicer with the hoses not so prominent above the hood.
4. Can someone please explain to me the quick attach? I ordered mine without one because all I really need on the front is the loader. Is the QA just at the bucket area? I guess I wasn't expecting the loader arms to
come with the quick attach (easy off). I like it. I will probably get bucket forks from BXpanded for light duty stuff.
5. Oh, and HELP, I can't open the hood. I haven't looked at the manual but is it a pull (per arrow) a push down. I think it's stuck (not good Kubota).

I would appreciate you thoughts and comments. Thank you.

Congrats RomeK2
I think the loader line's stick up so to allow slack for the whole loader removal. Looks a lot like my set up. The tires/wheels are (I believe) from a 3rd party and the paint may not be an exact match.
I have to yank pretty good on my hood latch & the "quick attach" generally refers to the bucket connection. Usually there are 2 levers that you push down to lock the attachment on (bucket, forks, etc). There's a slight maneuver you need to do with the loader arms & dump lever to hook & un hook your attachment. Parking your attachment on ground that's the same "plane" as your tractor helps a lot. I don't have a "B" so take this with into consideration and I see some pretty unpainted linkage on your loader that I don't recognize by your loaders torque tube.

For the hood, push down on the hood slightly right in the middle, by the latch. Then it will slide easily. :)

Congrat's on the new rig! Getting ready for the 50 hr service on my 2380, it's been fantastic for 50 hours so far!

The hood latch is an odd arrangement. Basically, if you are standing at the side of the tractor, squarely facing the latch, you simply lift it slightly, and pull horizontally straight towards you. Easy once you do it the first time, but awkward initially to figure out, based on the silly arrow.

The SSQA is only for the bucket, or front attachment, NOT the arms as they mount to the tractor. It's not really something you want if you aren't planning to remove the bucket, and add other attachments, as it has less lift capacity than the standard pin-on bucket. All the new 80 series BX's have quick-tach LOADER remove & install, which is what you do to remove the whole thing from the tractor. Totally different from the SSQA.

I have a set of Titan clamp-on pallet forks, that clamp right to the bucket. These work well, and are over-kill for the BX (heavy-duty), but handy none-the-less.

Be safe, and enjoy your new tractor!

Nice machine.

I too use the clamp on forks from Titan... they are so nice for pallets and moving stuff around.

Nice looking machine Rome! Now, go get after some dirt! I'm sure you'll find new improvements over your old bx25 that you're going to love. Congrats again, my friend.

That worked. Awesome! Are they all like that? It's like opening one of those secret boxes.
