Hi guys. I know the tractor size range is a little large for this forum but I thought you knowledgable folks could give me some good advice.
I just bought a 75 acre farm in Southside Virginia and now I need a tractor. I've had my eye on a used M96S with cab, loader and bucket, 2200 hours, for 35k. There are a bunch of different implements I'd like to be able to use but the one that is making me reconsider is the backhoe. I can't seem to find an implement company that makes a subframe mount for the M96S. I even called up the Bradco plant to see if they could help me. From what I've read attaching a backhoe to a 3 point hitch isn't a great idea so now I'm sort of stuck.
So I believe my options now are to get the M96S and have a machine shop craft me a subframe mount for whatever backhoe I choose (probably Bradco or Wallenstein) or look for a smaller tractor that should still be able to handle everything else I throw at it. This leads me to think about buying a new M7060 with a Kubota backhoe. A new one with all the bells and whistles I would like (including loader, bucket, fork, backhoe) prices out at 75k on the Kubota website. I'm sure a dealer could give me a better price but how much better?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
