I just received my New Grand L3130 w/LA723, Filled R-4s this evening, it had 0.2 hrs, now it has 1.8 hrs.

I moved six huge rocks and dumped them in a sink hole. I am not good at operating the front-end loader(yet), but with alot of practice I will be better. I had fun trying to learn, self-teaching myself to night. I plan on grading the driveway and maybe doing alittle bush hogging tomorrow. It has been about a month since I sold my old tractor, so I have alot of catching up to do. It kinda conserns me, jumping right into bush hogging some tall stuff, with a brand new tractor.

I asked the dealer about the engine break-in, I know it has been a topic on here before. He advised to go easy on it for the first 10 hrs. (no, wide open running). Then after the ten hours, run it like you want to. Does anybody just let theirs' idle? Weather permitting, I need to finish up staining my deck, and I need to work in the garden alittle tomorrow morning. I thought I might just crank up my new tractor and let it idle, while I am doing other chores. Thanks!

my dealer told me it is a good idea to vary the engine speed during the first 50 hours and not to go over about 2200 rpms. not putting a heavy load on it the first 10 hours is not a bad idea, either. my two cents. i know you'll enjoy your new 3130, congrats. i really like mine. have 76 hours now.

Congratulations on your new Grand L. I have just over 2 hours on my brand new 3130. Am using a 5 foot brush hog and being careful not to scratch my new toy as I back into the brush along my road. I'm still waiting on a backordered 723 loader with quick detach bucket. I let mine idle a bit before raising the rpm to about 2000 for working, then let it idle a while before shut off.

Thanks guys for the post. I will go easy on the bush hogging. When I was playing with the loader tonight, I did alot of varying of the rpms, but never got over 2000. I will let my tractor idle for awhile before and after I work it. Oh, and congratulations on your new tractor too.

My loader is quick attach also. I can understand your problem. It took an extra three weeks to get my tractor, because of the loader. The LA723 must be in big demand to be back ordered like that. Anyway, I finally got it, so good luck recieving yours.

Congratulations on a great tractor!

First 50 hours vary throttle, but no full throttle. Always warm it up a few minutes at about 1/4 throttle until temp gauage starts to move, then get busy! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Enjoy!!
