Massey Ferguson MF245
I'm 44 and now a cancer survivor. I have been a machinist and industrial mechanic for 25 years. Due to my recovery I can no longer work.I sold my Harley and bought a MF245 so I can maintain my land, family and horses. This is a working tractor but also for me a restoration project. I know I will have many questions to come as I move forward with the restoration part.

First of all welcome to the site. Glad you could make it. To bad about selling the Harley but Hey! Is the 245 running now or already on the shop floor in pieces.

Greetings and Welcome to TractorByNet. We have several to help you with questions on a restoration. If you don't have the manual yet, that would be a start.

www.agcopubs.com sells "THE" service manual if you are doing any mechanical restoration. Take care. -robert

Cancer and restorations are two subjects I know all too well. In fact, my ongoing Massey 135 tractor restoration project is one of the things which helped me keep my sanity after dealing with cancer and it's lingering aftereffects. Just keep in mind that much like cancer, restoration projects tend to get very expensive... in a hurry.

245 is running with only 2000 hrs. Has been left out in the weather and neglected. Just finished reassembling all control pedals and levers. Right now cleaning , greasing , and servicing are priority. Painting and body work will come later when weather breaks.

Welcome to TBN, I am however a lot older, but I can sure identify with having to give up your Harley, I had to give mine up last year due to declining health, I gave it to my son, so I still get to see it.

Best wishes in your recovery and restoration.
