Loader New Loader for my BX1800

I'm not sure I understand the physics of it, but I think adding weight to the rear tires by filling them doesn't add anyweight to the front end. It doesn't add any weight to the rear axle, just the tires.

I have a BX and I had a bad experience with mine once. I didn't have it in four wheel drive and had a loader bucket full of dirt. I headed down a hill and the brakes only work on the rear wheels. Once I headed down the hill the rear tires got light and I slide down the hill out of control. No damage done, but more luck than anything else. In 4 wheel drive, the front tires are then hooked to the rears, so you get braking through the front wheels.

You get extra weight on the front end if you lift enough with the FEL so that the rear end starts to lift. If you were a really skilled operator, you would be able to balance it on just the 2 front wheels. During normal operation, you are not transferring the weight to the front end. It is during this balanced period that some will say you are harming the front end by overloading it, and they are correct in that statement. But it's pretty easy to say that while they have done some ballast work on it, it isn't nearly enough ballast if you are getting into that situation.

Yes! The dealer in Danville VA has order it for me and just called friday to say it's in. So, I hope to carry my tractor up there this week. I will take pic's and post them when I go.

Hey nc, you must be having so much fun with the new loader you forgot to post the pics! I'm interested in knowing which model loader you got. I'm in the market for a loader on my 1800 and don't know which one to get.
