Yanmar YM2610D & Kubota L4701HST
So I purchased on a lightly used 2020 L4701 consigned Deere dealer last week.

Now, I just bought a LA765 loader from a Kubota dealer that also installed it. I Brought it home late Friday and tried to use the 3pt on a grader blade and does not go up or down unless I use the curl control on the loader joystick

If I put the 3 PT control up then use the curl to the left the 3 pt lifts up. To lower the arms, lower the 3 pt control down then curl the loader to the right.

The tractor has 6 total hours....

Thoughts?

That's usually a symptom for the power beyond and return lines swapped.

sounds like they tied in the loader valve wrong.

That is what I was thinking. I have a call into the dealer. I wanted a sanity check too.

Thanks

Well, what did the mechanic say? Anything special? We can make some guesses if we know a bit more about how the L4701 was set up before they put a loader on it. Specifically, did it come with any of the optional remote hydraulic outlets? Or did it only have the standard hydraulics to the 3pt hitch?

Here is why....because if that L4701 came without remotes - BTW, that L4701 is one nice tractor - then the mechanic could have/should have put on a remote kit to add a loader. But remote kits are pricey hardware, and to save $$ it is possible for a clever mechanic to re-route the hydraulic flow to the 3pt hitch so that it will also power a loader. Sometimes that can work sort of OK if there is a flow splitter or a Power Beyond port in the loader control valve. It depends on how the loader valve is internally plumbed. All too often you end up with either one control simultaneously powering two circuits, and then being forced to put one of the circuits into bypass mode in order to power the other.

If that is what happened, it's not a big problem. You just need to add the proper remote hydraulic outlet kit. Or add an inexpensive manual flow splitter with a lever you throw to go from loader to 3pt & vice versa.

Of course if it did have remote outlets which the mechanic used to power the loader then it's even less of a problem. It just means he got a couple of hoses crossed. That's easy to do, and undo, and no damage done.
luck,

the real question is why wasn't this tested before it left the shop? Shops are terrible. I am in the middle of repairing a generator that a certified CAT dealer work on it, i removed 2 tools, 5 extra bolts and washer's, and some bolts are stripped. i know most people can't repair but man, people really talk up dealer support, as far as im concerned they are almost useless to me, I called 20 looking for a motor price. take a guess how many called back...

The L4701 did come with a single rear remote.
The dealer rep called me a little after 6PM and their service guys were gone for the evening. I live 35 miles away from my tractor. They are going to get me on the phone tomorrow when I am with the tractor and troubleshoot. To me it appears one of the lines is swapped from what I think I remember seeing to lines watching on youtube when folks installing 3rd function kits on L series Kubota.

I will report what the resolution is.

Thanks

If it had a rear remote then the power beyond loop was already changed. It would have gone from the distribution block under the floorboard to the rear remote and then back to the distribution block to the 3-pt (which is always last in line). The loader valve should have been inserted into the PB loop ahead of the rear remote (so block-> loader-> remote-> 3pt). Sounds to me like they did not properly account for the rear remote and/or the rear remote had never been hooked up properly. Is it a Kubota OEM remote, or some third-party contraption?

I believe it is an OEM rear remote.

As was suspected, one of the lines from the block to the valve was reversed. The dealer sent a diagram from the installation manual. Swapped the lines as works as it should.
