Got my first NEW rider last Tuesday. After some research and some heavy motivation from my wife, if you can believe it, we finally made the purchase. LT1045 with the bagger.

I've spent years finding and fixing and modifying other people's junk so I can work my yard, I've had enough!

If it ever stops raining here in NH, I'll be able to actually use it.

I drove it around the yard a little bit, It ran great, but it's been pouring rain here for a while.........So I looked foolish.

So it's sitting in the shed, clean as a catalog model.

Hopefully we've made the right choice, I've looked around the posts, and we'll report back.

But after spending years fiddling and diddling, hopefully I can just turn the key and mow, on what appears to be a fine machine for what I need to do.

Mow an acre or so, and maybe pull some crap around in the trailer. Maybe if it performs well enough, I'll get the snowthrower, we'll see.

You guys seem knowledgeable enough with these CCs that I'll be able to get some tips if needed. But having been in the trades for a long time, and fighting with junk for so long, I don't foresee any showstoppers.

Hopefully I'm welcome in the CC club, albeit with a small one.

All are welcome here!

I know it's hard to get that machine dirty when it looks so nice and new /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I still can't bring myself out to mow again with my fully restored old 682 /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Just watch the hydro with the 1045 for the first few hours and test it completely when it dries up outside to make sure it will pull as it should without slipping or overheating, it is no secret here some of the 1000's have had some issues there. If all is well it is a fine machine that should serve you well for years to come- enjoy!

Hey, Thanks.

I've operated and I repair alot of hydraulic equipment. I know every piece has it's own sound, and when you get used to each one's own tone, you can pretty much tell how it's running. I've never operated this particular unit,so I'll have to get used to it and maybe "test drive" a couple others at local dealers to get the tone. I've run alot of large commercial hydro mowers, and they obviously have a different tone.My new toy sounded pretty good to me, but I think my smile was smashing my ears shut anyway.

Thanks for the welcome, and even if the rain doesn't let up, I might do a little muddin', just for an excuse to wipe her down again. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Sorry so slow,

Yes it is.
I am VERY happy with this MOWER. I stress mower because that is primarily what it is and will be for me.
The major mix-up was that the blades that came with the bagger were INCORRECT. Do NOT attempt to use these unless you are 100% certain they are correct. Mine were certainly incorrect. They are the "high lift" blades that come packaged with the bagger. The CC rep was GREAT, he told me that many others have attempted to use these blades and destroyed their spindles. CC shipped me correct blades without delay. The blades that come "stock" on the deck are for mulching and discharge, so if you purchase the bagger, you need to install the high lift blades, the center bore on these blades must match your spindles, if they do not......... DO NOT USE THEM. The CC rep told me that a bunch of bagger kits sent to HD got shipped with the wrong blades. Maybe, as I joked with the rep, it was to help out the CC dealers, who knows. Anyway, if you purchased the bagger, be careful with the blades. The correct ones that I received direct from CC fit like a glove.

That being said, after the flood waters subsided, this MOWER is great. I am very happy and it has plenty of mowing/bagging capability even on the somewhat treacherous slopes that I run it on. The reverse mow (lawyer-friendly) mode is helpful. I usually just stick it in that mode once I start, when the warr is up, I'll defeat it.

Good mower.
