Like many others, I've gleaned a lot of info from this site since finding it about eight months ago.

I'm a retired police officer and have been renovating an old farmhouse for the past few years.

As a kid I worked on a neighbor's farm, where oxen provided most of the power until they built a home made tractor, and finally bought an old Farmall "H". Most of the hay that I've handled has been with a pitchfork. I later owned a couple of Farmall's of my own.

Last summer I ordered a Bobcat CT 230 when the rebates were big. Received delivery Dec 18. Sure is nice to have a tractor that starts without having to fiddle with it for several hours.

Thanks to all for the wealth of info and ideas on this site! :)

Welcome! What part of Maine are you from? I live in NC now, but I grew up in northern Aroostook County. I miss it sometimes, but not so much this time of year. ;)

Pretty much. Winterville actually, but I went to high school in FK. I've been to Robbinston, too, believe it or not. Nice to meet another St. John Valley native on here!

Jason.....my Aunt and Uncle used to live and run the post office in Winterville. Gerald and Rita Dube. Uncle Gerald has since passed away and Aunt Rita moved to Minnesota with her daughter Lisa. That was several years ago.
I loved visiting them. They had horses years ago. Awww the memories. Those were the good ole days.:)

I'm actually from down South. Southern Maine that is. I live in Gray, about 12 miles north of Portland. We did travel quite a bit through "the county" taking our son to college in New Brunswick. Sure is pretty up that way. I always get a kick out of the Houlton McDonalds with an indoor fireplace and snowmobiles parked outside.

I know Gray is not a small town but I know a few people there. David Sherlock and John Eccles. Ring a bell?

I'm not familiar with either of those names. It used to be that I knew everyone on our road, but their are many new homes in the last 20-30 years.

I lived about two miles away at the opposite end of the road they were on, down the hill by the lake. Only three houses in between. I actually talked to Lisa on Facebook not too long ago, so I knew she had moved to MN. Not sure what ever happened to her brother Tommy.

Small world!
