New Massey GC1725M TLB owner in PA

Hello all,

We recently got a new 2019 GC1725M TLB, and it痴 pretty impressive, so far. It痴 replacing our trusty old 1995 Cub Cadet HDS2185 for lawn duty, as well as doing other jobs around the property.

We purchased from Longenecker痴 in Williamsburg, PA. Nice dealer, and very friendly. Their pricing was good, and the owner, Dale, was a pleasure to deal with.

It痴 a bit of a learning curve, coming from the Cub, but I知 getting the hang of it. I致e already snagged a big tree limb with the ROPS, which spun the front around, almost going down a steep bank towards the road. Thankfully, the 4WD came in handy to save the day. I also got too close to the side of the pool deck, breaking the left light on the ROPS... I glued it for now, but I知 looking into just replacing them with slim LEDs to avoid the issue in the future.

Yikes, good thing you're okay! Sounds like going from driving a small car to an 18 wheeler. Gotta get a feel of the width of the machine.

Remove the lights or move them to inside the ROPS on the opposite sides. The lights are wider than the footprint which will cause numerous problems. I broke one lens and then removed the lights entirely.

Thanks, all. I saw a thread where someone replaced them with flexible LED motorcycle light strips, so that’s something I’m considering. I thought about moving them to the insides, but not sure how well that’ll work when using the backhoe. I may try it. The only thing I’m not crazy about is drilling holes for the wires.

meantwalk: Yeah, it was a little bit of a scare. The biggest reason I smacked the light was because the ground slopes down a little going towards the pool deck, making the light even closer to it when driving parallel to it. If it were level, it would’ve been fine. I’m just not used to having so much bulk behind and above. I’m quickly getting used to it, so hopefully I won’t make those mistakes again. The worst part is, I rubbed a small spot of paint on the fender when it happened... sshhhh... don’t tell my mom... LOL

I broke mine off. Now I just use black zip ties to hold them on. It's not very noticable and if I do hit something then the zip tie breaks before the light does. Then I just zip tie it back on.

I'm going on at least zip tie number 4 and still no broken light.

Heh, just came across this thread, I too broke off one of my lights on a telephone pole. I had mine replaced, I call it learning. I need to look at the lights to see if I'm clearing something and not the wheels now that I know the lights are a few inches wider.

I still have not broken my lights-but I have the metal guards. I have been in some tight spaces too!
The garage door header has not been untouched by my forgotten unfolded ROPs though :-(
