New MDC7060 12 speed 4 wheel drive light question

I have noticed that since I picked up my new tractor this past Wednesday that whenever I apply the brakes that the Green 4 wheel drive light on the dash turns on.... when I let off the brakes the 4 wheel drive light goes off.

The 4 wheel drive light as I understand it should not come on until I push the 4 wheel drive switch.

I never had this light issue on my M6060, so not sure if this is normal or not.... but I don't think it is?

Looking for any other M7060 Cab 12 speed owners to see if they get this same light when applying the brakes?

I'm sure it's like my Deere. It engages 4wd when the brakes are engaged to assist in braking. When locked in, the fronts are providing braking thru the driveline....if that makes sense. I'm sure it's in your manual but I'll look over mine for a more precise answer

Thanks, you may be right and I could not find anything about the light in my owners manual other than to say that it will come on when the 4 wheel drive switch is depressed. I hope you are right!

In my manual it's called brake assist. Was under the operating hour tractor in 4wd with brake assist. Consisted of one sentence saying the light will be on when using the brakes. Makes sense though. Since the fronts will be locked in with the rears, the rears are proving the braking which in turn makes the fronts....clear as mud?

I have a 2016 M7060HDC12 that I purchased new last October. When I depress the brake petals, the green 4WD light on the dash DOES NOT light up. The ONLY time its on is when the the tractor is actually in 4WD and then the light on the dash is constant.

I tried to find written proof of what I'm about to say but couldn't. So for whatever it's worth....... I read somewhere that the tractors with electro/hydraulic 4wd engagement also have the brake assist feature. Those with mechanical engagement, i.e., lever, do not have this feature.

Does that match the two tractors in this discussion??

I could find nothing in my owners manual stating anything other than the light should come on when in 4 wheel drive.

Mdu and I have the same tractor....mine lights up when I hit the brakes... his doesn't.

I can't see any way for this to be in error.

The times I've started down a steep timber trail and tapped the brakes, forgetting to engage 4wd, wish mine had that "error".
