Mahindra 2615 Gear FEL
Wanted to say hello. Just bought a 2615 gear w/FEL for my 2 acres in the mountains of Idaho that I will be building on come spring. I haven't picked the tractor up yet since it's in Oregon and I'll have to wait until the snow breaks before I head over the Cascades to do so. Looking forward to it!

Regards

Welcome to Tractorbynet, Marty. I think if you do much reading here, you'll find that most of us prefer the hydrostatic transmissions in the smaller tractors, but there's certainly nothing wrong with a gear model. I'm sure you'll enjoy that tractor.

Bird,
we sell 25 gear tractors for every hydro sold, its usually when their wife wants to use it(2x a year) and its $1000 more added to the price.

I hope im not starting a hydro vs gear argument:eek:

agreed, hyro's are few and far between here as well.

2615 is the best bang for you buck for small acreage owners! Enjoy!

The 2615's a cool machine. I have a 2015 Gear, and still am amazed at what it can do. You're gonna love it. I went with the gear model because I just feel more "in tune" with the machine when using it. Plus I'm a truck driver, and feel kinda naked without a clutch and shifter!

I'll have to admit I'm more than surprised at those numbers, and of course if we're only talking particular brands, it would be different, but if we're talking about all the Tractorbynet members, that's another matter.

But you won't get a hydro vs gear argument from me. I've had two compact (Kubota) tractors with front end loaders and I loved the hydros in them. But overall, I've got a lot more hours on geared tractors and I liked them, too.:D And nope, my wife never drove either one.:D

This will be where the tractor lives. Like the view?

I love my 2615 hydro. Shifting is a waste of time and energy. Overall, I believe a hydro is much more productive.
