Hi to you all,
First post of a first time tractor owner. Been reading TBN for a couple of months and i claim to have seen all pages of all the general forums.
This is a masterpiece of a website and just too much information. I hope that one day i can contribute also.
In short and as introduction, I am a belgian living in Slovakia. We (thats the GF and me) own 5 horses and some size of land. The tractor came mainly as a help for the horse hobby and will of course also be used in the firewood supply and """gardening"""".
Last Wednesday our tractor was delivered after long searching and selecting dealers we decided to buy an overhauled Iseki TL1900FD with a new FEL .
No particular reason why Iseki besides the fact that it was clearly the best dealer of gray import tractors.
TL came with 16 hours on the counter (run-in after engine overhaul, dealer sells only overhauled engines own workshop and 500pcs on stock)
The price was like 25% more than other dealers but this guy claims besides the engine work, to have replaced all bearings and seals and backs it up with 1 year of warranty
My father visited them twice and both times multiple pieces were open and people working on them. BIG difference with what we saw in other places.
We had pouring rain the last days so i was not able to do anything but driving up and down the driveway and trying to pick up some sample-wood to get accustomed to this little new tool. I like it and it surely reminds me of my childhood driving each tractor that came in the neighborhood.
Here we go, long wait but the weather is still cold and way too much rain to do something outside.
Ordered some metal on friday and so now 2 days later the Iseki should be ready for its first tasks.(Things are temporarily mounted on the pictures, still have to shop for some Blue paint)
What i made: (thanks TBN, 99% of the ideas come from here)
- pallet forks.
Made them this way that they clamp over the complete length of the bucket and the bolt is only a slide prevention. Top part is a 6x6cm and the bottom a hot rolled 8x4 cm U profile.
- Manure forks for the bucket, these can be extended or retracted. 40cm long for manure loading and 80 cm long for bale handling and brush collecting. The spikes are made out of 30mm rod and dont see how a FEL with 500kg lift capacity is able to bend these (time will prove me wrong i am sure)
- a 3pt hitch having a standard ball. a swiveling military standard pin and a commercial size fix pin.
The ball will be used for moving the horse trailers around at home, the military hitch fits a trailer frame I intend to convert to a tipping trailer in the next weeks and the fix pin fits my 2-wheel tractor trailer which has a rotating hitch.
- A brush guard to protect the paint and plastics (only challenge was the sloping nose)
Still no picture of the complete tractor but i will post some when it finally stops raining and i can actually do something.
And i will use my camera instead of my telephone, should look better.
Maybe some follow up posts with detailed pictures of each implement? Do I make a new thread for the trailer of just dump it in here?
I would be glad to give drawings and dimensions if somebody wants them but i dont have them now. The ideas are in the head and at its best i make some "high spec CAD" drawing in .... powerpoint.
Let me know your thoughts!
and thanks for all the reactions!
