Good morning.
I bought a John Deere 2720 tractor with the FEL and a 62D mower deck this past February(2014). It had 101 hours on it when I got it so it's in like new shape. The bucket on the FEL still had the shipping labels on it.
Since then I bought a 5 ft King Kutter tiller, a single row cultivator and a 6 ft Woods rear blade. The tractor has the industrial lug tires on it and I really like the tractor and implements. I happened upon this site when I did a search for adding skid shoes for the 6 ft rear blade. I've already looked at one post about that and will keep on looking for other ideas too.
I was forced into retirement this year after 40 years of working at the same company and decided this tractor was going to be my retirement gift to myself. I just turned 60 so I need all the help I can get and the days of walking behind a rototiller are behind me. I put a garden in again this year(35 foot x 50 foot) for the first time in 10 years. I have a JD GT245 with the rear bagger trailer and compost all my clippings and leaves. Until this year I would stir the pile with an old Cub Cadet 107 tractor with a snow blade. With the FEL I can be done with that job in minutes. I only own about an acre of ground but I really have found a lot of uses for the tractor and the attachments especially on my 190 foot gravel driveway.
OK, so I'm long winded. I look forward to seeing what's going on at this site and the innovations you guys have come up with to make life easier.
