What's up people. I came across this site a few months ago while trying to do as much homework as I could before buying our first brand new tractor. I am a co-owner/employee of a family business. It's a beach front community with 50+ acres, 1/4mi+ squared and 377 summer cottages. We are responsible for up-keep of the beach and land. Right now we have a tired JD 2350. Before that a slightly smaller Ford. We also have a Komatsu WA200-1 for storm clean up. After much consideration of green or orange and different models, we are awaiting delivery of a brand new JD 5083E. I don't know if we got the best deal having never done this before. We got it for 45k and 0%apr for 48 months. That included a 563 NSL loader w/85" HD bucket, 2 sets of rear SCVs, and block heater sitting on R4's which will be loaded w/rimguard in the rear. We are trying to step into the modern age and get some reliable equipment that is actually designed to do what we use it for. Therefore we needed something that could do the 2350's job and run a Barber HD400 Surf Rake which we also just bought. The surf rake is replacing the york rake we have been using to clean the beach for the last 20-25 years. You can probably guess the york didn't quite cut the mustard. All it really did was spread stuff around and if we were lucky, bury it a little. I guess we will see if this new equipment will pay off.
