New member here from NC

Hi, I'm M1Garandpa from Henderson, NC. I'm retired Army, retired Paramedic now enjoying raising Nubian dairy goats and trees. We have a mostly wooded 55 acre farm that we work between golf games and spoiling grandkids. This spring we're replanting pines on 15 acres and trying fruit trees on another 5 acres.

I've got a 2000 JD 790 with a 70 FEL and a 2013 JD 5075e with a 2017 H240 FEL, a 2004 JD MX6 rotary cutter, Woods HBL-84-2 blade, Titan hay spike, 5' Kodiak box blade, Countyline fence stretcher, Mill Creek 50 manure spreader, Woods RM59 finish mower, 4' Howard rotavator and a yard sale 5' rotary cutter and 5' scrape blade.

I joined because of a sheared shaft issue on my MX6 trying to find an economical solution. I've only got $350 in it now. Thanks!

Welcome to TBN... from just down the road! Where did the shaft shear at?

Thanks for the welcome guys! Ditto to you mddorange, my wife's dad was retired AF. teg, my grandmother's family is from Hillsville, VA. She was an Allen. The shaft sheared just above the splines. From what I've read, it's a pretty common issue with the early Spanish gearbox.

I don't know if Agri-supply has a replacement that would fit a JD... you might can call them?

Thanks all! I've always wanted to visit Australia Wagtail, nice horses! japody, yep, Boydton is right up the road (through all the I-85 construction!). teg, AgriSupply has a gearbox with the right spline, but the output shaft is too short. I have a lead on a replacement shaft kit, just waiting to see if it also fixes the weakness at the circlip ring issue that is supposedly the cause of the shaft shearing.
