About me: I came by my love of tractors honestly. I am a first generation non-farmer, and fifth generation tractor fan. My family has a fair collection of restored antiques, and I grew up around that hobby. I use my Deere for developing and maintaining 50+ acres in CNY. The Farmall is torn down after snapping a crankshaft, awaiting full restoration. That was the closest to a rodeo I've ever been in, when that crank snapped.
Supporting American industry is a real passion of mine, hence I own a Deere. For the size tractor, this one was the closest to a true "American made" that was available. Some globally sourced components (engine - Japan, Mower-Spain, Loader-Mexico, etc), but many components are American, and final assembly is American, in addition to all the design and development.
I have the following attachments:
I have made the following modifications:
Below is a picture from last fall. I was using my new ag wheels/tires, and my new plow to turn an old sod field as part of a several year wildflower project. There was an old ditch that had been filled in. I had been driving over it for weeks, and then I hit this spot where it apparently wasn't compacted and had been collecting water. I've gotten it stuck before, but this was the best I've done. Thank goodness for my neighbor's giant-*** Deutz with the weight and traction to pull me out from dry land!

I have the following attachments:
- Deere Loader - Used for general loader-type stuff, but also to clear my driveway of our lake effect snow every winter. I had a JRW 3 PT Snowblower and sold it. I can't stand twisting around and getting snow in my face, so I prefer the bucket.
- Deere 72" mid-mount mower - came with tractor. I do use it, but maintenance is difficult. I wish I had a drive-over model.
- Woods 72" Medium Duty Brush Hog - recommend
- County Line 72" York Rake - inherited it, no complaints
- Everything Attachments 18" single bottom moldboard plow - recommend
- Everything Attachments Extreme duty 82" disc - Recommend with reservation (they need a disc scraper option), LOVE this company.
- Titan Distributors 3 pt hitch receiver - Recommend highly. I added grab hooks to the D-link and turned it into my log skidder, for about $150 all-in
I have made the following modifications:
- Brushguard on ROPS lights, and Deere (incandescent) floodlamps for night (snow clearing) work. - Do no recommend, get LED lamps instead.
- Engine block heater - recommend highly. Major improvement in starting below 20F
- Replaced original Deere battery with a Deka, made by Eat Penn Manufacturing in PA. - Recommend highly. Check these out. They're the best batteries money can buy
- Modified OE headlamps which use a two filament type 885 to use high beam instead of low beam, as originally wired. Got a few lumens for free.
- Replaced original turf tires and wheels with Ags. Used Deere OE front wheels with Carlisle R1's, Unverferth (American) centers and rims on the rear which I had to paint yellow, and Firestone Super All Trac II 14.9-24's
