Kioti CX2510 (2021)
Hi,
I live in NH on 3 acres of hilly, wooded land. With LOTS of rocks. I've been thinking that I'd like to move some rocks out of the way, maybe clear some trees, so I'm in the process of looking for a tractor.
We have a Kioti dealer very close and Kubota and Deere within about 20 miles. LS is about 1.5 hours away.

I'm leaning towards a compact (maybe Kioti CK2510), but not sure which implements to go with. So much temptation and such limited funds.....

I'm grateful for all that I've learned from reading previous posts on the forums and look forward to learning more.

For most new to tractors a quality dealer, reasonably close, available for coaching, is important. Almost every new tractor is delivered with a minor glitch or two that requires correction. My Kubota dealer is six miles away. I feel my local dealer continues to add value to my equipment. Dealer proximity is less important to others, well experienced with tractors, who perform their own maintenance.

I recommend a Ratchet Rake bucket attachment for prizing out rocks and pushing rocks a short distance. If you want to move heavy rocks a long distance attach a chain to the rock and to the tractor rear/center drawbar, then pull it. Puling is what tractors are designed to do.

You can order a Ratchet Rake through the T-B-N store, button at the top of this page.

Rocks, New England’s best crop....

Our L3200 has SSQD bucket. I use the pallet forks, placed about 6” apart, to lever rocks out of the ground and place them. We use the bucket as well.

G'day Mate and welcome to TBN from Downunder.

Discuss with the dealership what your estimated heaviest regular task will be. This will help in determining what size/HP of tractor you'll require.

Enjoy the site.

Welcome. Lots of NH members. I am a semi-professional rock farmer myself.

I don't think a ratchet rake is ideal for our rock... :2cents:

A farmer was stacking rocks near the road when a Cadillac pulled up to ask for directions. The driver asked, “Where’d all those rocks come from?”

“Glaciah brought ‘em.”
“That so? Then where’s the glacier now?”
“Went back to get more rocks.”
