New member in Raleigh, NC, USA

Hi folks, introducing myself as suggested in the new member email. Located near Raleigh NC, just bought 12.5 more acres, bringing me up to almost 20 acres. Inherited my dad's 20+ year old MF 231, but it doesn't have front hydraulics, so I'm in the market for an 'upgrade'. Couple of Mahindra dealers close to me, as well as a Kuboa/MF dealer. Looking hard at the Mahindra 3550 and trying to figure out the Kubota and MF equivalent. Buddy of mine bought at Mahindra 4035 (tier 3 I think) and loves it. Anyway, trying to decide on reputation of the Kubota brand and the $$ it entails vs the Mahindra. I've started reading threads on the forum, and I'd like to thank those who have taken the time to respond to all the misc issues brought up here. I just want to make the right purchase and be satisfied with what I pay for!!

Welcome from just down the road...What are your planned "uses" for the tractor? Also, is your land wooded or old farm land that you want to till?

Will you need to sell the MF 231 to buy the new one? What I'm getting at is "Two tractors are better than one". Having one tractor to do everything you need, will be a compromise. Happy hunting....

Welcome Tester , I like MF tractors and have a 1635 , also JD's . I would pick between Kubota and MF myself. I would keep the 231 and buy a new one . If you decide later you want to sell there are many folks that love the 231,including me

Welcome neighbor! I'm in cameron - I have a 4035 that I'm looking to sell if your interested! Just don't use it now that our house is built.
