New member - glad this forum exists! I've been browsing on this forum for all kinds of very useful info knowing we were buying a farm for the past 2-3 years. Finally closed on 30ac last year & had the wife talked into a new tractor within about 2 weeks while shoveling 2000 lbs of rock manually off our trailer! Trying to save $$ wherever we can while getting this homestead ready to be as self-sustaining as possible for 6-head of cattle. Ended up buying a new Kioti CK3510HST + FEL, rear remote set, front forks, bush-hog (rotary cutter lol), box blade, & a trailer. Hindsight with 30-acres, probably should have got closer to 50hp now that I've been accounting for the farm implements I'm still going to need while keeping the machine's limitations in mind (4x4 round baler is all it can handle, hay spear or some type of adapter for my pallet forks, sickle cutter or something to cut hay with, subsoiler, plow, disc - getting by with the box blade in place of disc for now).
I'm currently having issues with the overwhelming need for a backhoe - dealer said I have to completely swap my 3pt links for the BH frame mount. If that's true, then a sub-frame mount BH isn't an option (need my 3pt to do everything else I bought the tractor for!) Looking into Mini backhoes (Terramite, Dig-It?), a heavy-duty (as-possible) pull-behind unit and/or possibly a Frankensteined pull-behind hybrid unit with legitimate hydraulic feet and maybe additional auger-style anchors + suitcase (to prevent tipping while I'm digging??) Maybe one of the old Dig-It units with a couple of added "anchor" mods... I'm awaiting my new member approval to post this issue on another existing thread/s so I'm not that guy starting new threads for no reason when there are already existing threads on that topic!
