Hi I am new to this site, i am a Retierd Farmer, that has wore many hats in my life time, I grew up on the out skirts of a Large town, we had 10 ac. and raised just about ever thing we ate, there were 7 Kids, we all worked in the garden, had chickens, milk cow and a horse and some time a Mule, back in those days we only had fried chicken when the were the right age to fry, my Dad had a way of marking each year chicken with a diffrent colored band on their leg, when a 3 year old Hen went to setting she was headed for the pot, may be Chicken & Dumping, Chicken Stew, Or Chicken Gumbo ( You got it ) i live in the south and was born and raised and have lived most of my life in the State known for Gumbo, after school and a few years working, Uncle Sam Called me, I gave 3 years to the Army, as a Heavy Equip. Oper. did most of my time in France, really enjoyed my time working for Uncle Sam, after i returned to the States i worked in a Plant then when i was about 30 i had a chance to get stasrted in farming, i farmed 20 Years, Raise Mostly Soybeans, Little Cotton, some Corn, Milo, and in my early Years of farming i raised some Irish Potatoes for some cash money flow, During my time farming i also got into Making Sausage, and still make it, any way in the mid 80s the Good Lord Let me Escape to a Job in the Oil Field, worked there as Operation Manger for a service Co. then in 2002 Retired and now live on a lake, spend my time Taking care of a 3 ac. yard, gardening, Fishing, Hunting, Making Sausage once a year and Helping a Friend that i have Met near me, He is a farmer, and i help him for no pay, just to drive his biggest Tractor, it a J D 8300 light years ahead of the tractors that i had in the mid 80s, Life Sure Is GOOD
