BCS Model 725
Hi all,

I've been a BCS owner/user for years and have a 725 with the 8hp Kohler Magum, 26" tiller, Bio 100 shipper/shredder, and 44" sickle bar that I bought new in '91. I didn't even know there were forums out there catering to 2-wheel tractors, but seems like you can find a forum for anything these days.

I used my Bio 100 for the first time in years last week and it sounds like it needs drum bearings, so that's what prompted my search today. I'd appreciate parts source recommendations if you have any.

From the few threads I've read so far, it sounds like I should get a CD and order some tines for my tiller before they aren't available at all.

My sickle bar may be up for sale soon as I have no need for it anymore.

Hello,

Welcome to the group. Your 725 has a great engine on it. That Kohler Magnum is one of my favorite engines.

Your stock tiller tines won't go out of stock as long as Joel at Earth Tools is in business. He buys them directly from the manufacturer. If you order them from any other dealer, you will get the current style tines. I'm assuming you have the short tines that bolt to the outer holes in the hub flange, not the style that uses the same inner holes as the hubs. Did you try to lubricate the bearings? They may be dry from non-use. Shoot some WD40 or other penetrating into the bearings and run the chipper.

A warm welcome to TractorByNet's 2-wheeled tractors forum. I am a BCS owner, too and also visit the BCS users forum on Yahoo. BCS_Users : BCS_Users

I recall someone on the two forums replacing the bearings in a BCS chipper about a year ago.

Thanks for the nice welcome!

I didn't try lubing the bearings as they looked like sealed units, but maybe not. I know there are no zerks on them. I've finished with it for now and have the tiller back on, so I'll give them a shot of spray lube and see what happens when I'm through with the tiller.

I do like that Kohler, it's the best engine I've ever had on an implement.

Thanks for the links to other sources too, I'll be sure and check them out.
