Tractor
Mitsubishi D3850FD
Mitsubishi D3850FD will not go into any gear. Hydraulics all work, I can slam the PTO into gear and it works but clutch does not stop it, I got it to move from high gear to mid gear and it will not move from there. I am hoping beyond hope I think for it to be something simple like a fluid or something. I do not even know where to begin beyond hunting for the manual I purchased 10 years ago and found to be almost useless. The tractor has only 200 hours and runs great. It doesn't look so hot anymore after years of outdoor uncovered storage.

Okay - From the Satohparts.com website in the FAQ section - " I cant shift my transmission when the engine is running. The clutch has no effect."

I had some time this morning and it does shift with the engine off so to follow through on their possible solution - I started the tractor in gear and dropped the plow down - assuming that is the same as pulling a load and nodda. Same same. However I could work the h-m-l gears with some force but nothing seemed to break the clutch loose. According to them my clutch disc is stuck to the flywheel. Anyone have any ideas on what else I can try to "unstick" the clutch from the flywheel ?

Wow, only two things come to mind #1, use it. Drive it around using clutch as much as you can, might work it loose. It did on mine, clutch frozen from sitting. #2 (ya won't like it) Tear her down. Maybe someone out there has better ideas but thats all I can think of. Good luck with her.

Start in gear hold the clutch in and drive around. Keep fingers crossed

I have broken the clutch loose by driving the tractor into a tree stump while holding the clutch pedal down. If you have a bucket on it, you might try that. After several tentative bumps on the stump, I finally just cranked it up and hit hard. Popped right loose. If and when you do get yours loose, use a stick to keep the pedal down when you park it to prevent a re-occurance.

#1 use it. No joke. Usually during the winter and spring months I have a few projects going to require a little time on the tractor but this is the first time I did not plant food plots, work on the road, clear rocks etc.... I also did not plant anything this spring. I worked in March fine but just an hour or so run time. Note to self - Find a reason to USE IT.

I am a bit shy about hitting a tree with the FEL these days especially with high throttle. I guess I could go put the disc on to give me a better wheeley bar. I've been way to far up a tree with a clutch that saved my arse so doing without a clutch is... Almost terrifying.. almost. Edited - ahhhh-... A stump that the tractor can clear without climbing up... Hmmmm

Celebration is on. thanks to all those who replied with suggestions. It took some time but I got the clutch to let go of the flywheel. I did everything I have read to try from pulling a load, this gear to that gear slamming breaks heating up and cooling down. I am not sure exactly what did so I am going with the culmination of activities. I did everything except slam into tree. That was on the list to try but I am glad I never got to that point. I think I am going to clear out a place in a carport to park it on and also leave the clutch engaged hence forth when parking. Again - thank you all.

My Kubota has a latch to hold clutch pedal down when the tractor is not in use. I only use the latch in winter when the tractor is stored in shop. I have forgotten a few times, but have not stuck the clutch yet..
