New member looking for a tractor in near future.

Hey guys I知 going to be in the market for a tractor around 35hp in the near future and this looked like a great place to get information about the various makes and models.

I am in the process of purchasing 8 acres of pine plantation. I plan to use the tractor to help clear a couple of acres for a house place. I will also have access to a trackhoe. Once the land is cleared and dirt work done I will use the tractor for small things around the house (not planning to use for mowing lawn or anything like that). I will also use the tractor for my deer hunting lease to bush hog shooting lanes and possibly for planting food plots.

I believe a tractor in the 35hp range would be great for me. I have very little experience operating a tractor and feel that a HST will be nice to have also.

I'm all ears though, so if anyone has suggestions and/or comments please let them fly!

It is also worth mentioning that I plan to purchase a used tractor. My budget is going to be around the $12,000 mark. I would love to be able to get a FEL and a bush hog for that price with it.

I also realize that HP isn't everything, I don't really want a big lawn mower (if that makes sense). I don't want to regret getting a tractor that is too physically small (lightweight) in the future. Our deer camp has some hills and there are some soggy spots also that seem to demand 4WD.
