Kioti LK 3054 XS TLB
Greetings to all TBN members. After 2 years of reading TBN forums and countless hours at tractor dealers, I finally purchased a LK3054XS TLB. I felt for the price that this machine was what I needed. Heavy enough for hard soil but light enough for sand. Overall satisfied with the Kioti product but I have some issues with dealer installation of backhoe and associated hydraulics that are developing. Also the 4 post ROPS need to be looked at for proper fit. The dealer installed all the parts supplied but I noticed that it looked a little slanted to one side. After he gave me the installation manuals to read I finally found the reason. It came with 2 Plate FIX Front ROPS RH. It was missing LH one. Installing this way has bent the front ROPS Pipe. Or else it was bent in transit? Will take this up with Kioti engineering (Robert Kemp). I guess I'm just a fuss for perfection. I have documented the installation process from crate to delivery on dig-cam. I think the dealer was a little annoyed by me doing this but at 21k I felt justified. I imagine that any machine needs fine tuning, but how much? I wonder if Kioti has influence over its dealers?

Welcome to TBN KioBorg. I'm sorry to hear you're having these problems. Of course you should have the tractor set up the proper way, perfectionist or not.

Kioti has, over the years, attempted to create a responsible dealer network, and I believe most dealers are. Occasionally one finds some problems, but that's true in all tractor brands as posters attest to every day. I'm sure your dealer will want to correct this problem if you bring it up without any intervention from Kioti, but by all means make sure you get what you paid for.

You mentioned hydraulic problems as well, but did not elaborate. Backhoe hydraulics run off the loader right? That loader on the TLB is awesome and sure appears to be a great one. What type of other problems are you having? The 3054XS is a nice unit, and I hope this unfortunate problem doesn't have a lasting effect on your enjoyment of it. John

I bet the dealer felt that he was being cornered. If you have future issues with the tractor? It is a good idea to have the dealer going to bat for you and not aganist you with the Mfgr. On the other hand, If he messed up the tractor setup while you were documenting all this stuff on digital camera, I would begin to worry a little about his knowledge of the product--Ken Sweet

I think my questioning of my dealers knowledge of this product fulfiled itself when tractor was delivered with front wheels on backwards. Called dealer and asked if it was normal for the air valve to be facing inward towards the tractor. His reply was that it must have been the only way they can go on. Manual shows cross section of wheel and how it should go on. Also states that if not attached as illustrated, transmission parts may be damaged. Reason for contacting Kioti is to verify faults in backhoe control valve assembly. 3 to 4 leaks arround 2 center valves and right top 4 way valve assembly. Could it be the seals were dried out or not seated properly when assembled. Dealer said its O-rings that need to be seated under pressure... Back and forth...Need expert opinion to have things fixed. Hence, Kioti engineering, if they ever get back to me. Still its a GREAT machine..

Thanks Ken for pointing this out. I found the tire rotation arrow and yes it's going the wrong way now that I reversed the wheels. My dealer is about 35 miles from me. I guess it's time to buy a trailer.

Welcome aboard KioBorg!
Sort of sad that you are thinking of getting a trailer because of problems with your tractors assembly. Some of the nice dealers on the board may have some other opinions about working with your dealer, but given you have documented problems and everything about your tractor is still under warranty, I would insist that the dealer come pick it up and rectify everything. Unless at this point you have lost total confidence in their ability to provide you with the kind of service you deserve. In that case I would work through Kioti to see what can be done.

I have worked with 2 different dealers only because I moved. Both excellent. My current dealer even comes over to my place just to show me how to do things easier, like disconnecting and reconnecting my BH. When I bought my tractor he even wanted me to know that certain fitting are so close in tolerance that sometimes he has to file the paint off before he can attach things. That I should not worry someone forgot to paint something if I ever remove those parts.

You spent good money on a great machine, you should get great and trustworthy service.
