Massey Ferguson 1030
Just bought a neighbors MF 1030 with a Rhino SE5 Mower. I am going to be restoring the tractor in stages. First project is removal of Hood decals. Replace with NEW and repaint with Fresh MF Red! Any ideas on best way to remove the weathered decals??

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to TBN, Well depending on the current surface of the sheet metal(rusty or just dull), If it is just dull but smooth a scraper would take the decals off since your repainting. If the decals are adheasive backed you could try a heat gun or hair dryer on high to loosen glue, Then once glue has released decal use a citrus base solvent to remove glue.

If your surface is to rough to scrape loose use an orbital sander if you can. Sounds like fun(NOT) /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

If your paint isn't too far gone I would try to use rubbing compound to bring it back then polishing compound it next then wax to protect... If this sound more feasable don't use the scraper idea /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif... Use heat gun idea or install new decals over old ones??
