new holland tc30
I have a tc30. The bell housing cracked. I took it to the shop and had it replaced I got tractor back from the shop. I put the loader on and the backhoe. I let it idle and it had no leaks. I used it to push some dirt and the tractor made a loud popped and I heard loud noise. I took it to back the dealer they forgot some of the bolts in the bell housing. It wrecked the flywheel and starter and broke a ear on the right side of the block and on the left side it cracked the block it leaks oil out of the engine block. I have five people that knows that the engine did not have any leaks or cracks prior. Dealer said that it was they fault that the broken tab on the right side of the engine he would fix it and fix the starter and flywheel but the crack on the left side he would not fix. He said keep an eye on the oil. The dealer said that it is a common thing that the TC30 with a backhoe is known to crack the engine block.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to fix this problem ??

I don't understand why some mechanics think it is acceptable to have spare parts left on the bench?????

"Yeah, we were wondering what those bolts were for". DUH!

I would start with a lawyer. It doesn't sound like this shop is going to make things right without financial and legal pressure. Very sad.

Dealer admitted common problem.
Did you purchase the backhoe from them??? if so I'd start there asking firm questions.

15 years with my TC 30 with N.H. Backhoe and FEL . It is a HST model with over 800 hours now , Have had no issue's . Have I been gentle ? NOPE , But on the other had , it is a compact tractor , not a D4 dozer or big backhoe . I have seen threads here , over the years of people having a cracked housing issue with backhoe , but have never gotten good answers on " HOW " the backhoe was mounted . Mine uses a sub-frame , But I think the real issue is the top link . When connecting the backhoe , many think the tighter the top link the better . Personally , I think that is a bad idea . After the B.H. is mounted in the back slot of the attached sub frame mount on tractor , I connect the 2 pins under the tractor , right behind the front tires . At this point , I put ever so slight down pressure on the ground with the B.H. bucket and snug up top link . Now if I keep increasing down pressure with B.H. , I could get at least 2 complete turns on the top link , likely 3 or 4 . So if one takes into account the leverage that the B.H. is now applying to the tractor at those 2 pin mounts right behind the front tires , I can see the tractor almost cracking in half .

In your case , it sounds like the dealer jacked up thus it may be needed to seek legal remedies .
