I figure it's time to join up as every search always brings me here anyway. This site seems to be the mecca of tractor info. I'm currently in the market for a 45-55hp loader tractor to replace all the old machines that have served me well for the past 20 years. It's time to downsize and get up to date since i spend more time fixing them than getting any work done.
I've been shopping and checked out the Kubota L4600, JD5045, NH, Mahindra and the LS R4047. Of all them the LS was the most bang for the buck. The only thing is there is only one dealer, that seems to be a one man operation, within several hundred miles. With that in mind I am leaning towards Kubota... maybe a MX4700.
I have yet to look at the Kioti tractors. There appears to be a dealer within 30 miles or so.
Mostly I'll use it for mowing, clearing and moving hay around. I have a small dump truck that gets loaded which was another concern with the LS. Their loader doesn't lift as high as I'd need to feel comfortable.
