The wife and I just purchase a house + 30 acres in central Texas. The land is currently about half old pasture and half wooded.
The existing pasture has a neighbors cattle on it occasionally to keep it from completely overgrowing, but it isn't otherwise being maintained.
We want to plant pecan trees on a couple of cleared acres and we want to improve the existing pasture.
Over time, we want to clear most of the remaining 15 acres and turn it into pasture.
The pastures will be used for cattle and horses.
Once done, we should have about 20 acres of cattle pasture, 2 acres around the house/pond as yard, 4-5 for horses, and a couple or so for pecans.
I'm not entirely sure what size of tractor I should be focusing on. Budget is an issue, so I don't want to buy more than I need - but I also don't want to buy something that won't get the job done.
Any thoughts on what range of tractor I should be looking at?
