Ford 1320
I just purchased a Ford 1320 with a FEL. It has a few bad hydraulic leaks. I just replaced 2 hydraulic connectors to the FEL. I got 5 gal. of Shield "Premium Universal Tractor Hydraulic Fluid" from Advance Auto. I don't have a manual for this tractor yet. I believe the Hydraulic fluid goes in the rear fill hole with the rubber cap. How do I know how much fluid to add. Also did I get the right fluid. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

It does meet Ford/New holland M2C134 spec. After reading your post I added about 1 gallon of Hydraulic fluid and started tractor. My new connectors didn't leak.:) I was also able to identify my other major leak.

Thanks a lot!

My other major hydraulic leak is under the tractor on the steel line going from the pump to the transmission. I'm waiting for my manual to arrive before I attempt to disassemble enough of the tractor to remove it.

Thanks for directing me to cnh.com. The exploded view is quite helpful. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure the problem is my very rusty steel tube.:(

I've got a 1310, whcih I belevie would be older than yours. It has a Dipstick in the HYD filler under the seat. It also has one in the front axle (4WD).

Be carefull with the FEL. Don't force the steering... Unless you are lucky enough to have power steering.

Keep us posted!
