1999 MF 263 FWD
Hello,

Just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks to all who share their wisdom here. I'm a relatively new tractor owner (less than 2 years) and have quite a bit to learn.

We have 40 acres on a lake (property is 95% woods) and I have used the tractor quite a bit since moving here. I'm learning all sorts of uses.

Anyway, I'm guessing most people like pictures, so here are a few pictures of my MF 263.

Thank you, once again, to all who are willing to share their experiences and knowledge on this forum, as it is a huge help to myself. I know cars, but tractors are pretty new to me, especially owning and maintenance. So, thanks again!

Cheers! :drink:

Yes-- Welcome, and that really is a nice-looking tractor. I see it's a '99; not bad at all for an almost 20-year old! Gas? Diesel? How many hours on it?

Thank you all for the warm welcome.

It is a 60hp turbo diesel and has about 750 hours on it. From what I've read it's very similar to the 245, but with a bit more hp. It's 4wd and has syncro-shuttle, which is nice.

The people we purchased the home/property from bought the tractor new and we negotiated it into the deal when we bought the home. Along with a FEL, it came with a snowblower, bush hog mower and back blade.

I'm slowly getting better with it, though I am sure an experienced operator would be much more efficient :)

This forum is great as it has helped answer a few of my issues/questions that have come up. Thanks again for all of the smart people on here :)

Man did you do the right thing buying that tractor with the property ! With the options you have on it (couple of remotes, loader, shuttle shift, turbo charged) it has in an 18 year old tractor essentially everything I'd want on a new one. Well equipped. Plus it looks to be in excellent shape. Those tires are either new or more likely indicate that it led a gentle life of 750 hours. That thing will be maintainable for the rest of your life and then some. In some ways superior to what is being sold new today. And 60 horse is ideal for doing most non-heroic things you are likely to do. On top of all that good news the prior owners left you with a great selection of attachments in a bush hog, snowblower, blade, etc.

Do you have a good dealer nearby? No matter the circumstances, a good dealer is worth their weight in gold & good to develop a friendly relationship with.
Howmuch open non-wodded area do you need to mow/maintain ?

Deals like that are very unique and you are lucky to have found it as you did.
Congratulations.
