Not sure where to put this but I posted a while back a search for PTO part for my Ford 1920. Received a few replies but had no luck finding the part.

In the last week I have received 3 emails from new members referring me to different people with gmail email accounts. Contacted two of them but they sent picture of different PTO parts. I find it odd that all of a sudden I get multiple contacts from brand new members who know about this unobtainable part.

Anybody else getting contacted this way.
Thanks
Mike from NC

I haven't seen anything like that, but how would a new member get your email address? Do you mean that they sent you a private message via TBN?

Yes in each case I received an IM advising that the new member (all had joined TBN in the last couple of days) knew someone who had my part. Then they directed me to a Gmail of an alleged 3rd party. I wish they had my part but it is very suspicious that I got the IM's several weeks after my original post.
