BCS 853 (weights, 30" tiller, furrower, 40" mower, 20" mower, 1,200 lb trailer, scraper blade)
Hi Everyone,

New member...well sorta. Registered a while back but decided to wait till I had some experience with my 853 before posting further. I've been collecting a few implements though (and doing a lot of work)!

I'm now the proud owner of my trusty 853 w/13hp Honda GX, 30" tiller box, 40" 3-blade mower, 22" single blade mower, furrower, 1500lb dump cart, and just ordered the 36" dozer/scraper and some barbell hangers for wheel weights (can't wait for that to arrive as I have a job planned already and I think it's actually going to come later than expected).

I love this machine, and thanks to everyone here for their insight both before and after purchase. Below is a shot of my setup minus the dump cart which I had to leave at my cabin.

Good times! I look forward to chatting with you all in the future!

PS - Yeah, had to throw my little Honda cultivator in there too! BCS doesn't make one and no longer badges the Mantis with their colors. :confused3:

I have the same 40" mower for my 735 and also the mower sulky, used them for several years then got a G5200 to mow with. The sulky works good also, but don't use it much anymore, they are tough machines that last.

Yeah, that mower works well, but man it is scary. Feels like it could fly away it spins so fast, and it shoots out clippings about 30'. I really pissed off some customer's neighbor's with it. I saw on another thread that I could switch my brake levers so they are set up "right" for mowing.......that is going to make it a better implement for me as I switched from a JD 48" walkbehind and it was real tough getting used to the right-hand brake steering the tractor to the left. Now that I'm used to it though, I imagine I'll have some fun unexpected turns relearning it.

Next on the menu for me: the Berta Rotary Plow! I've noticed that because I used my tiller when my own garden soil was still pretty moist that I created some hardpan below the tilth....I think it kind of smeared the clay soil together at the bottom of the cut.....10-12" down so it doesn't affect my results much, but I want to break it up anyway.

Thanks for the replies Gents! Much appreciated. I'll post a pic of that scraper blade when I get it...and maybe some of the work results on this next job (if it comes out as planned, that is...lol)

Because everyone love pics, for now, here is some power composting work I did while "flipping" my garden from summer to fall/winter. The BCS really chews it up!!!
