Greetings,

My name is Kieran I have finally taken the plunge, brought a large plot of land and will be moving soon. In total, ther is a little under 80 acres, mostly woods but has around 11 acres cleared. Obviously this will be my chance to convince my wife of getting a tractor. I anticipate clearing more land, bush hogging the land that is currently there and using the tractor to clear snow (live in Maine) and laydown gravel/grade the driveway.

I would appreciate some general tractor suggestions (horsepower/size). I anticipate getting one with a front loader and purchasing a bush hooger like attachment. I don't need a brand new one and would be very happy with a used tractor.

Thanks in advance,

Kieran

Hi Kieran and welcome to TBN
Your question will get much response in the Buying forum.
Size will depend a little on how much time you want to take maintaining everything. I would think 30 hp on the low end. If you want to use it to mow with then total weight becomes an issue.

Welcome to TBN neighbor state. :)
By the sounds of your needs least 30hp,but even than you'll be looking different types of transmissions..attachments..tires etc..don't let your research become home work..enjoy it.

Main Index near bottom you should see Northeast, you just might find TBN'er near your back yard w/good pointers.
