I too tried barlows, with no reply back. I figured it was due to me being too far away for them to deliver to northern pennsylvania.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I realized I left out two pieces of information that are important to my quote. The first is I'm financing so no cash discount and no big rebate. The second is that my quote included the $2350 it would cost for KTAC for the full 5 years. Here's a basic breakdown of my quote:

MX5200 with R4s 26799
Loader 1065 4499
72 IN ATI Bucket 615
LandPride 380-166A 3rd Function Kit 685
LandPride BB2572 Box Blade 1349 (he doesn't have this in stock so I have to pay some shipping)
LandPride Forks 48" 3K LBS 799
7.5 ft WorkSaver Snow Plow 2986
Hydro Angle Kit For Plow 352
Hoses for Plow to 3rd Function 250
KTAC 2350
UCC Filing Fee 40
Rebates -1500

No charge:
Setup/Prep
Delivery
Block Heater
RimGuard

I was also considering Top-n-Tilt for another ~$2250 including remotes. At the minimum I'll probably add the remotes. I need to add tire chains in case I need them plowing and also want some hooks welded on the bucket but I think other than those things I'm pretty much set.

Regarding the comment suggesting Ag tires, I know I would get better traction but will have times I need to drive across my yard at both camp and home so the R4s seem a safer bet.

FWIW - I did look at Kioti last year. They seem like real nice machines, but there's only one dealer around here and honestly the price wasn't that much below Kubota. I looked at both the DK40 and DK45. I also briefly talked to a Yanmar dealer this weekend and got some basic pricing on tractor with loader. He gave me pricing on the 45 and 49HP turbo models. Again, once I added all the options back in the price isn't much different from Kubota.

Question: I originally went thinking the MX4800 but for the price difference (roughly $1k) it seems a no brainer to jump to the 5200. The extra HP is certainly nice plus it comes standard with the extendable 3pt arms like the Grand Ls have. But does anyone think going the turbo route is risky? It's obviously another complication and another thing that can break. Anyone wish they didn't get a turbo? (that even sounded silly typing it!)

This is my first tractor and there's a lot I don't know, so I really appreciate the replies everyone.

Ag tires don't tear up your lawn when driving over it, it's when you do a lot of sharp turns that it starts to scuff the lawn, especially when you have the front wheels engaged...

My vote is STILL for ag tires!

$250 for a couple of relatively short hoses is totally unreasonable. Should be $50-$75 at the most. If you are willing to wait for a std delivery time, the shipping for the box blade should be free, specifically if the dealer stocks LP implements. If-when you get your rear remotes, get them with the float function. Better have it and not need it vs needing it and not having it.

None of this is deal breaker stuff, just thought that you might want to know. It should not hurt to question it.

You may want to do some research for other implements for grading, sounds like you have a lot to do. A box blade is no doubt one of the best all around implements to have, but there are others that work waaay better for specific tasks that you may have.

Good luck;)

I also considered the mx4800, non turbo, but I am glad I went with the 5200 with turbo. Turbo saves lil fuel. The mx5200 is better on fuel per hour then my 30hp b series kubotas and I think the turbo has a little to do with that. The only thing that bugs me about a turbo is the couple minute cool down time I have to wait before I shut engine off. My non turbo tractors I use to own I would just throttle down, count to 10 and shut off, with turbo after working engine, book says to let engine idle for 2 to 3 minutes for cool down as to not cook the turbo bearings.

Also, the 3ph on the mx4800 is different, with turn buckles for tightening instead of the pin positioning for slide and tightening adjustment. Owing both types of 3ph, I am loving the 3ph style of the mx5200.

As for ag tires or r4s tires, you must decide which is the single MOST important factor for your needs, width/stability/less lawn damage, OR traction. The ags will be better for traction in wet areas and in the woods.

I chose the r4s, because I priortized the width/stability/less lawn damage bases on my business needs and that I could easily compensate for lack of traction a little bit by using tire chains, but I could not find a easy way to compensate for the ag tire short commings. (Search my previous thread in the tire section "r1 ag or r4 industrial tires")

Hi everyone. I haven't replied recently but appreciate everyone's input. I did get another local quote which ended up a bit higher. I did also try Barlow's but they were too busy to do anything. Long story short I have a new MX5200 bring delivered on Monday. I can't wait for it to show up. - this is my first tractor I'm glad my local dealer worked out really. Thank you again.
